Robertson County, population 17,094, was created in 1837 and named for Sterling C. Robertson, who was an early settler who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence. It's located in Southcentral Texas -- halfway between Dallas and Houston. The county boasts a strong economy, excellent schools, and recreational activities for both families and retirees. Robertson County also has a popular Drive-thru Animal Safari, a railroad museum, lots of places to shop for antiques and a WWII historic site and exhibit. Popular towns: Franklin, Hearne, Bremond, Calvert and Mumford.
